Clinical Consulting
Often the clients most in need of treatment don’t respond to standard protocols, leaving them without the care they need. After realizing there seems to be a shortage in experiential trauma therapists, Kim felt called to offer support to fellow helping professionals, first in the form of a training/consultation group, The Heart of Therapy, and later through individual/dyad consultation calls. As a STAIR certified practitioner, Kim leans into an organized framework that supports an understanding of skills and ideas to utilize during therapy at any stage.
As a consultant, Kim helps other therapists deepen their understanding of neuroscience-based approaches and experiential trauma-focused therapies. She specializes in helping fellow clinicians expand their understanding of somatic work, Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD), and the importance of strategies for survival learned early in life, like dissociation . Through working together, clinicians learn new ways to treat complex cases they may have previously turned away and expand their capacity to support their people.
