About The Group
The Heart of Therapy group is designed for exploration of experiential therapy modalities while attending to the personal growth of it’s members. This group is a fit if you would like additional education on working with clients in a deeply experiential way and are looking for support that will increase your self- awareness, authenticity, and confidence in the therapy room. Part training group and part process group, Kim offers both didactic and experiential learning opportunities while fostering connection, support, and providing consultation. This group aims to be a supportive learning environment that will bolster your development as a therapist.

Details:
WHEN: every other Thursday morning from 10am - 12pm CST starting October 10, 2024 through May 22, 2025 with a short holiday break at the new year.
WHERE: depending on interest, we will meet online via Zoom or in Kim’s south Austin office
INVESTMENT: $75/ 2-hour session. A 5% discount will be offered to those who pay in full at the beginning of each semester.
Group Facilitator
Kim Schaefer LPC, SEP, ERYT (she/her) is an integrative psychotherapist, Somatic ExperiencingⓇ Practitioner, and yoga teacher with a private practice in Austin, Texas. Her work focuses on the intersection of embodiment, emotional health, and contemplative practices and how these support the healing of trauma in a relational way. Kim has completed hundreds of hours of post graduate education in experiential therapies such as Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems, EMDR, Bonnie Badenoch’s Inner Communities, Emotional Transformation Therapy and Relational Life Therapy. She has also been studying the nuances of interpersonal neurobiology (IPNB) with her mentor Juliane Taylor Shore since 2017. Before becoming a therapist, Kim worked as a massage therapist and yoga teacher. She is passionate about supporting therapists in finding confidence, connection, and satisfaction in their work.
